October 6 at 7 p.m.
Ona Siporin, storyteller and professor at Utah State University, will read the stories of Isaac Bashevis Singer during a family story night. Singer earned the Newbery Medal with several of his works including "Zlateh the Goat and Other Stories" (1967), "The Fearsome Inn" (1968), and "When Shlemiel Went to Warsaw and Other Stories" (1969).
October 28 at 7 p.m.
Jacqueline Osherow, professor of English at the University of Utah, will speak about the world of Isaac Bashevis Singer. She will discuss his life and works as well as the role Singer's writings have played in conveying to generations a world which was lost after World War II. The program will feature selected readings from his stories.
